RETRO DRIVE-IN ZOMBIE DOUBLE-FEATURE
RETRO DRIVE-IN ZOMBIE DOUBLE-FEATURE

Two great movies plus trailers, retro-commercials and more! Tons of weird trailers, commercials and the special Obama Zombies trailer! A must see for zombie fans. The first feature is KING OF THE ZOMBIES (1941), starring Captain America’s Dick Purcell.  Purcell and the occupants of small plane are forced to land on a remote Caribbean island full of Nazis and zombies. In the second feature, REVOLT OF THE ZOMBIES (1936) with Dean Jagger, a mad scientist in the ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia creates an army of the undead. Yikes! In KING OF THE ZOMBIES (1941) a small WWII plane off the south coast of America is blown off course by a storm. Running low on fuel it is guided by a faint radio signal to an island. The passenger (Dick Purcel of the popular Captain America serial) and his butler (vaudeville great Mantan Moreland) take refuge in a huge mansion owned by Dr. Mikhail Sangre. Exploring the mansion the stranded Americans find a voodoo ritual in the cellar, where the doctor is aiding Hitler’s army by transferring personalities into his zombies in order to gather secret defense information. King of the Zombies was nominated for an Academy Award for best score in 1941 and is famous for it’s classic comedy sketches with Moreland of humor-filled fear. REVOLT OF THE ZOMBIES (1936) begins in the Franco-Austrian Frontier during World War I, where an oriental priest, chaplain of a French colonial regiment, is condemned to life imprisonment because he possesses the power to turn men into zombies. In his prison cell, the priest prepares to burn a parchment containing the location of the secret formula. Colonel Mazovia (Roy D'Arcy) kills the priest and takes the partially-burned parchment. After the war an expedition of representatives from the Allied countries are sent to Cambodia to find and destroy forever the so-called “Secret of the Zombies.” The group includes Colonel Mazovia; a student of dead languages, Armand Louque (Dean Jagger); Englishman Clifford Grayson (Robert Noland); General Duval (George Cleveland); and his daughter Claire (Dorothy Stone). Armand falls in love with Claire, who is actually in love with Clifford. Armand finds a clue that has been overlooked and returns to Angkor Wat where he views an ancient ceremony at a temple and discovers a room paneled in bronze, with an idol holding a gong. He accidentally strikes the gong, and a panel in the wall opens, revealing a small metal tablet. He translates the inscription and now has the power to create an army of zombies and perhaps win the love of Claire. As often happens with zombies, things go horribly wrong… All our DVDs are Valid in All Regions and All Countries!
